HTML Lists

HTML lists are three type:

  1. Ordered list
  2. Unordered List
  3. Definition List

Ordered list

HTML <ol> element is used for order list. In order list default list item with number. Order list item value are 1(numbers), A(uppercase alphabet), a(lowercase alphabet), I(Uppercase roman) and i (lowercase roman)

Unordered List

HTML <ul> element is used for unordered list. In unordered list, default marked with bullets. Unordered list marker value are disc(default), circle, square and none.

Nesting Lists

List inside list is called nesting. HTML List can be nested.

HTML Nesting List example

  1. Thursday: Do John homework
  2. Friday: Smith for neighbors:
    • Bring in the mail
    • Take out the trash
    • Feed the dogs
    • Stop the newspaper delivery
  3. Saturday: Wash car

HTML Definition List

HTML <dl> element is used for definition list. The <dt> tag is used for definition title and <dd> tag is used for definition description.

HTML Definition List example

A primitive, non-vascular, non-photosynthetic form of plant life. Examples include mildews, molds, and mushrooms.
A microscopic roundworm that lives in the soil. There are both harmful andbeneficial nematodes. Harmful ones take their toll on the roots of the plant.
